Sealand
You wouldn't swim in it, neither should they
In collaboration with Heath Nash, we created The Poollution pool cover—woven from ocean trash collected on Cape Town’s beaches. This installation, placed over tidal pools, raised awareness of ocean pollution.
Sealand then faced a challenge: how to upcycle Poollution without it becoming more waste? The answer was turning the plastic into limited-edition summer pool floaties, introduced at the Corona J-Bay Open and across social media. These "dirty" ocean plastic floaties contrasted sharply with pristine pool toys, reinforcing a responsible consumption message and spotlighting Sealand’s ECONYL® range. Designed sustainably, even the packaging was recyclable, ensuring zero waste.
