Repositioning to signal industry leadership
In 2019, the Commonwealth Bank (CommBank), Australia's largest bank, faced corporate reputation challenges following the 2017 Royal Commission and the emerging global pandemic. Trust, a fundamental aspect of banking, was at risk. While CommBank led in banking innovation, perceptions of being out of touch and the rise of FinTech competitors threatened its relevance. We partnered with CommBank to signal a significant shift in its role as a positive change agent and leader. A new brand strategy was developed, reframing the purpose, and clarifying a new positioning: Delivering a brighter tomorrow for all of us. We also revitalized the visual identity and breathed new life into the iconic diamond logo to be lighter, brighter, and more dynamic, symbolizing a beacon that guides the way forward.
